Hollie Pratt is a spunky, energetic newcomer to the Houston area. A native of Louisiana, Hollie is off to making a new home for herself as Progressions Performing Arts new gymnastic, tumbling and acrobats teacher. Hollie's dance background includes 12 years of jazz, tap, acrobats, and ballet -- 12 years of competitive gymnastics, (vault, bars, beam, and floor). A few of her accomplishments include a Texas Dance Association Scholarship in 1993 in Acrobats, a Level 9 Optional Gymnast, made State and qualified for a spot at Regionals in Greensboro, North Carolina as a competitive gymnast. Hollie has competed throughout the south; acquiring many all around titles in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and Mississippi. Hollie grew up as a cheerleader on her school's competitive cheerleader squads in elementary, junior high and high school where she helped her teams go to Nationals in '96, '97 and '98 where they placed in the top ten.
As a baby, only months old - to being a young adult, Hollie's history also includes a background amongst the pageant world. She competed with a talent of dance and gymnastics in local, national, and international levels; winning numerous titles such as Cover Miss and Little Miss Louisiana as well as titles in Cinderella Pageants.
Hollie went to Northwestern State University, a nationally accredited school in theatre and the liberal arts, where she majored in theatre and minored in photography. Hollie's passion is for the arts and she thrives on this creative spirit. NSU allowed Hollie the opportunity to study what she loves: theatre - specifically acting techniques, musical theatre, voice and diction, Shakespeare, tap and ballet. Hollie Mechelle's star accomplishments include the lead in "Proof as Catherine", a spot in the Christmas Gala, "A Tribute Rockette and Wooden Soldier", "42nd Street", and a lead chorus girl in "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat." Hollie also made the cut for a PBS Special on the life of Jim Croch and attended a prestigious workshop in New York for acting and workshops under William Gilamore at NSU for stage and film.
Hollie, during the last ten years, has kept very busy by participating on stage as a Miss Hawaiian Tropic model in Texas and Louisiana and also in fitness competitions. She has modeled at Dallas Market for XOXO, Hot Kiss, Guess, and Mossimo. She recently posed in a swimsuit calendar as Miss Calendar Girl. Hollie is also the spokesperson and swimsuit model and representative for Tropical Tans and Travel of Louisiana.
Hollie is currently striving to create a name for herself with a fusion between the dance, gymnastics, and cheer and the photography world. This idea comes from two forms of art that need to be expressed and then captured in frame.
Hollie's work related experience includes, most recently, working for Safety First, Inc., on the Houston Metro Light Rail Project as a Photographer and Surveyor while also holding the title of Assistant Photographer at Images by Chip in LA. She is a mentor for fitness and nutrition guidelines in healthy lifestyles and diet and exercise, and is also a coach in pageant guidance of interviews and modeling. Hollie also taught at Twin City Gymnastics as a coach in LA and is currently teaching at Progressions and other local studios in the area.
