Shelby Carr

Shelby Carr has been a dynamic force in the dance competitive circuit for several years now, winning multiple titles at regional and national competitions and conventions including top scholarships and awards at NUVO, LADM, WCDE and VIP at JUMP.

Shelby has danced for twelve years, much of which was spent at InStep Dance in Spring, Texas under Dana Loving-Sparks. She credits several teachers with instilling within her a deep love of dance including the late Steven Boyd, Dana Loving-Sparks, Margie Kreutz,

Doug Caldwell, Frank Hatchett, Sheila Barker, Lauren Anderson, Molly Snell, Shane Sparks, Lindsay Slott, Derrick Schrader.

Shelby also danced with Evolution Ensemble, a continuation of Steven Boyd's Ensemble, where she met Rachel Green. Shelby's and Rachel's partnership continued with Shelby moving to Progressions Performing Arts where Shelby competed under Rachel's direction with Progressions ELITE; again winning top honors.

Shelby's positive attitude and her strong work ethic was noticed, not only by Rachel, but also by several parents at Progressions Performing Arts, who soon enlisted Shelby to work with their dancers by various means including technique privates, solo cleanings and choreography. Her strong technique and her flair for dramatic artistic interpretation proved to be beneficial to the dancers she worked with and she soon had her own following.

We are happy to have Shelby on staff at The Studio of Tomball. She will be a driving force within the studio and will be an essential aid in preparing the dancers both technically and artistically as an assistant with Velocity Dance Company, where she will also continue to dance competitively.

Shelby's ambition is to attend college where she hopes to earn a degree in Business while also earning a double minor in Dance and kinesethesiology. She plans on doing this while she also continues to dance with the ultimate goal on one day owning her own dance studio.
